Happy Thanksgiving!
We have just sailed for 2 days and 2 nights continuously from Wilmington, NC to St. Mary's, Georgia. As you can see above, we finally received our final part for our autopilot via FedEx on Tuesday morning and we left the dock 1/2 hour later!!!
We have just sailed for 2 days and 2 nights continuously from Wilmington, NC to St. Mary's, Georgia. As you can see above, we finally received our final part for our autopilot via FedEx on Tuesday morning and we left the dock 1/2 hour later!!!
We decided to make a longer voyage to the border of Georgia and Florida for several reasons. One reason is that the weather looked calm and we wanted to make up for our lost time. The other is that we heard about a Thanksgiving celebration for cruisers, see link below:

This morning, we have been listening to a call-in VHF radio show, a venue where the 100 boaters can swap, sell, or buy boating or liveaboard items. They also informed us that after the Thanksgiving dinner, there will be music in the park and dancing. Locals are also offering shuttles to the laundromat, grocery store, and hardware store.

Our lengthy passage over the past few days was along the coasts of North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Our new AutoPilot performed well overall. More details later....
